Taking engagement photo is very exciting because it marks a milestone in your wedding planning. Most couples take their engagement photos about 6 to 8 months prior to their wedding date. Photos from the engagement sessions can be used for save-the-dates, wedding programs, slideshows, wedding websites, thank you cards, and more. We put together a list of items that you can bring to your engagement session. You’ll be surprised that small details can make a big difference in the photos.
- Change of clothes and shoes. Our engagement shoots covers up to 3 locations; each location has its unique ambience and mood. It’s beneficial for the couple to have more looks and variety. Talk to your photographer about the style that you like and choose your outfits accordingly.
- Extra layers / coat. Although we check the weather forecast prior to the photo session, the weather can still be unpredictable. Bring an extra layer of clothes so that you stay warm or stay cool depending on the weather.
- Facial blotting paper or oil control powder. To avoid having an unwanted shine on your face from facial oil, you can bring oil absorbing sheets or powder. You can buy these from stores, such as Target, CVS, Walgreens, etc. They are usually in the face wash section. They can do magic for your face.
- Each couple might have items that are unique and special to them that they want to include in the engagement photos. We compiled a list of popular items used by our clients:

- Balloons
- Bicycles
- Ice-cream
- Candies

If you decide to hire a makeup artist or hair stylist for your wedding, you can schedule the makeup trial on the same day before your photo shoot. Doing so, you will have professional makeup done on the day of the photo session.
